Frisk's steps echo across Home hollowly as they ever have. Despite how many times they've walked along these paths, the effect on them is always the same--an almost oppressive silence as Asgore's castle looms above, a faint uneasy feeling settling into their stomach. Frisk supposes that's just how castles are--they're the home of royalty, after all. It makes sense they would be special like that.
Stepping into the golden warmth of the Final Corridor, they let out a faint sigh. Again it's time to be judged and warned, and while the warm pride in Sans' voice means more than the skeleton probably realizes, Frisk is tired of dancing these same steps over and over. Maybe if something could just change, the resets would finally stop and they could all stay on the surface for good this time.
They reach for the save point out of habit (there are so many along here, they hardly need it), but when it activates something...flickers. Like the whole world went to static for a moment, almost like that first time fighting Flowey. Their stomach lurches and they look around in confusion, but...
It's the same. The windows are still there, and the columns casting their dark shadows across the floor. But despite the familiar surroundings they feel...uneasy. No less determined, but there's a prickly feeling on their back, like something is lurking. They don't even notice the dusty footprints left by another self as they continue on down the corridor.
